Foreign Policy in Indian Elections: A Critical Analysis of BJP and Congress Manifestoes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an interview that elections in India are festivals of our democracy. It is true that across the country, people are in a festive mood and are excited about exercising their fundamental right, i.e. to vote for a candidate of their choice. An avid political commentator had put it in different, slightly derisive words, “Indian politics is electionised not much democratised”. His observation pointed to elections around the year in some part of the country or the other. As India has three-tier governance – Centre, states and local governments, elections for any one of the tiers is happening somewhere in the country throughout the year. Obviously, several issues and features of Indian politics come up during elections. The issues that matter to voters, and the features, mainly the organising principles, are manifested during elections. But do foreign policy issues figure in the campaigns of political parties, at least the national parties? From the re

The spirit of science in struggle for truth

The struggle for truth is real. The dejection of time is such that we are in a time where the world is caving in upon us. The world is becoming smaller with advancement of applications of technology being adapted in real lives. Data is more organized and analytical. Business solutions have fast forwarded to our homes. Corporations and institutions have assembled and acquired positions of repute and power. The question of material comfort in pursuit of the truth is bound to arise since the systems have acquired so much of the power. The attainment of technological commodities have made things extremely systematic making it far easier for new ideas to be conveniently abjured. If modern science has drilled anything into us, it is to question everything. We shall follow.

Modern Science deserves all the laurels and accolades for the years of wonderful scientific exploration that has allowed us to bear the fruits of technology, making our lives comfortable. So much of scientific research is being driven to introduce material comfort in our lives that rather than using the derived technology to emancipate human conditions it is being switched into a repressive feed. We are living in our personal dream states which we don't want to be interrupted with anything external but we are forgetting that there is no such thing as "absolute personal" in the universe.

A person who takes the fall in the chasm of knowledge would be termed as crazy because his sense of understanding would transcend beyond the common sense and rationale that the society gratifies because it has settled down to a state of ignorance where they are completely contented with what they exposed to. They don't wish to change the ideas of world, bring a paradigm shift into the human phenomenon where knowledge can individually transform the world.

Technocracy movement (Scientific Consumerism)

Science is more inclined towards the techonological side which is giving rise to the dangerous trend of technocracy

If you have acknowledged modern science to be the only bearer of truth then you are sincerely at risk of deluding yourself with conjugating patterns of theories that alters through time. If science holds a special place in your heart and you feel a sense of pride in dismissing the ideas that have no scientific basis around it. It means you are as wrong as a religious person, who doesn't give a thought to what he doesn't know. If science has taught us anything it is to question everything. It is time we question science to its effect.

Despite having the luxury to enjoy the advanced range of technology society has not been able to find a balance. If this Ego is impenetrable than we are in the supremacy of wrong hands. Science, meagerly wants to feed the intellect. It's condition of evolving is because we are craving for material. Modern science provides data to technology makers, not to the people who would like to make this world a beautiful place but to those who want to restraint free ideas and establish a fixed rule on the world. The oppression of truth is highest in the times where knowledge is not propagated. If greed is what is driving our desires than we are in an utterly prejudiced world that has considered other forms of life as inferior. A person who is estranged from truth is the most crestfallen piece of life among us. Science has come down to such a hapless state where the personal greed is priority not the betterment of society.

I abhor vivisection with my whole soul. All the scientific discoveries stained with the innocent blood I count as of no consequence. - Mahatma Gandhi

It has been a real struggle for people to get to switch state and use it to change their experience of life. This knowledge has been embedded into the minds that have realised the nature of power we hold as humans. Our ability to expand in the universe, not physically that science wants to do but as mentally beyond our sources of senses deprives us of profound knowledge of existence.

People are not ready for the truth. They are not even ready for the knowledge. Truth will break the shackles of their life, the shackles which they so consciously invested in. Their dream of reality would be demolished with a spark of truth so they want to save themselves from it. Truth will always make people uncomfortable. The creative forces will try to suppress it, twist it and escape from its faculty but never will. The Dharma will always restore the balance with the universal forces of Karma.

Technocracy Rising

the change in the system is sudden and the future of modern science lies in the struggle for truth.

We are at the cusp of a systematic revolution. The shift of social order from an ideological point of view to the technocratic style of governance. This upheaval has come up with next generation technology like Internet of Things, Virtual reality and artificial intelligence coming up to replace the style of functioning in human ecosystem. In a country that is buried with lack of opportunities, it may come as a fortune of better future but there's a price to this conformity.

India has already started to show it's shades of technocratic style of governance with a humongous task of demonetisation at hand, to make the economy cashless. Similar initiatives have been adhered to the movement like Digital India to garner the gap between the elite technocrats from Reliance Jio and Paytm to the rest of the India. A move that favours the political class and the technocrats in equal measure,

Proximity of Government and big businesses have made it essentially important for us to dig deep into the murky system of technocracy that doesn't pay work around alternative modes of functioning. Technocracy emphasises on solutions by cutting down on the problems that can generate in future. It would not be hard to suppress the channels of expression in a technocratic style of governance. The Prime Minister of India has been vocal on many issues but when it comes to speaking on the 82 deaths, the Modi ministy remains tight lipped. The media of the country has not dared to rub the dust off the spectacles of people because the technocratic government controls the imagery of people for them to decide what's good for the collective whole.

Protect me from what I'm buying

virtual reality, internet of things, artifical intelligence are just the starting tools for technocracy to get hold of the human consciousness.

We go to school and study about the medieval times and lives of neanderthals. How they didn't have means to life like we do in our present times. In this sense of exploration and mediation we forget that we are living through similar times where we are surrounded by so much of technology that we have no idea of how it has made its way to our homes. We have accepted them as a common part of our society but our hunger of consumerism has blinded us to the idea of reality how it was manifested. How the ideas of telescope lens, toothbrush, pens struck the mind of the creators who gave birth to the most resourceful commodities to humanity. We are not in any case better than neanderthals when we are living in the same continuity of thought and beliefs. We have not been able to come out of the virus that has been installed in our brains to consume, accept and repeat.

There are heavy chances of system to collapse once the truth makes its way to the common beliefs of people. People are ready to accept anything people tell them if repeated enough times and propagated through the sources of TV and news media. The conscience of people have been hijacked to the point where they can't see the truth in front of their eyes, the perception of truth is faded with the beliefs installed in us. We are so invested in creating walls around ourselves that we have rejected the magnanimity of universal forces around us. Everyone takes a bite out of the fruit of truth and passes it off as half ridden truth to establish their own dominance in the knowledge world. The real knowledge has been dawned upon a person who realises that this knowledge that he is being driven into doesn't belong to him. Neither it can't be ordained into organization, this is why Dharma will always stand tall against the forces that are forced to bring down humans into subservience.
